Freehand Drawing Mini-Workshops

Let's learn the skills and techniques to freehand draw anything!

This monthly workshop covers one topic per month, from the basics of using graphite pencils to drawing human portraits!

Workshop Details

Age

Workshops are open to anyone who wants to draw and learn freehand drawing art from age 10 through adults. If you are a beginner or new to graphite pencil art, start from the Introduction to Graphite Pencil workshop.

Art LeveL

All art styles, skill levels, and art goals are welcome. If you are new to graphite pencil, I highly recommend taking the Introduction to Graphite Pencil workshop before taking other workshops. Each workshop builds skillsets needed for the next workshop.

Flexibility

Pick your workshop from two available session times! All workshops are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. All classes are 2 hours long, and it is $46/class.

Need more time to finish your work? Join the 2-hour open studio class in the following week for more individualized instructions.

Location

All workshops and open studio classes are held at Tanigawa Studio in downtown McKinney TX.

Workshop #1 - #4 : building foundations

The first 4 workshops will focus on building the foundations for graphite pencil techniques and freehand drawing skills.

If you have missed any of these workshops and would like to take them, please fill out the request form with your availability. If I get a few requests for the same workshop, I will set up another workshop date.

Workshop #5 - #11
Portrait Fundamentals:
Mastering Facial Features

The next 7 workshops will focus on everything you need to know about drawing human portraits. We will learn how to draw each facial feature first, then combine everything we learned into practice in the last two workshops.
