Colored Pencil Class
Easy! Just choose the option that fits your vibe:
-
[Single Class] — New to colored pencil art and not sure where to start? This is the perfect way to dip your toes in. Just bring what you already have at home from the class supply list.
-
[4-Class Package] — Feeling adventurous? Get a 4-session pass and pick your class dates over a 2-month window. Flexible and fun!
-
Absolutely! The 4-class package is valid for 2 months, so you can attend at your own pace. Choose the dates that work best for your schedule.
Life happens—I get it! While all class purchases are non-refundable, you can cancel or reschedule your class with at least 48 hours’ notice.
If something unexpected like illness or an emergency pops up, please contact me as soon as possible. If you notify me before class, you're eligible for a make-up session, which must be used within one month.
If you purchased a 4-class package, your credit will automatically roll back into your account once you cancel in advance.
Please note:
-
Make-up sessions must be scheduled in advance—no walk-ins, even for make-ups.
-
Due to limited space, please don’t show up without registering. I want to make sure everyone has the time and space they need.
Thank you for understanding and helping me keep the class experience smooth for everyone!
-
This class is designed for students ages 10 and up.
However, if your child is exceptionally focused, has advanced art skills, and thrives with technical instruction, you're welcome to email me to discuss on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, please try to gather your class supplies before attending. You can find the full list here.
Can’t get everything in time? Just email me—I’m happy to help you prepare with what you have.
If you're joining a single trial class, feel free to bring whatever supplies you already have at home.
Also, please bring a reference photo of what you'd like to draw, printed in color on letter-size paper. (Especially important if you’re new—trust me, it makes the class run way smoother for both of us!)
Totally normal—but let’s come prepared! The image reference collection at the studio is limited, so I recommend this:
-
Choose 1–5 subject ideas you like (e.g., fruit, flowers, leaves, simple landscapes).
-
Do a quick image search at home and bring 2–5 printed reference images to choose from in class.
📌 Pro tips for beginners:
-
Start with something simple and organic (fruit, flowers, leaves)—forgiving shapes = easier wins!
-
Avoid portraits of people or pets you know (the pressure to make it perfect is real!). Use stock photos instead to take the edge off.
-
Want to try landscapes? Choose simple ones—like a sunset with a silhouette for a splash of color without the overwhelm.
-
Yes, absolutely! I’ve taught students who hadn’t drawn since elementary school, self-taught artists, and even those with art degrees. I’ll meet you where you are and gently guide you just beyond your comfort zone—where the growth happens.
Yes! I teach you, not just a style.
Whether you love realism, impressionism, abstract, manga, fashion illustration, comic, or tattoo art—I’ve worked with artists across the spectrum. Whatever your creative voice, I’ll help you develop the skills to express it more clearly.
Nope—I’ve got you! High-quality drawing paper is provided in class.
You're welcome to bring your own if there's a brand or surface you love working on.

A virtual session is more interactive—great for artists who want live guidance, demonstrations, or back-and-forth conversation. If you thrive on hands-on support, go virtual.Nope! Just like my in-person classes, all coaching is beginner-friendly. If you're totally new and unsure where to start, a virtual or in-person session can give you a strong foundation.

👉 The more specific your question, the more specific my answer will be!
If you ask something general like “What do you think?”, I’ll respond in kind. But if you ask, “Should I push the shadows more in the hair? Are the transitions smooth enough?”, I can give you much more actionable advice.
To get started, please send me the following:
-
Your work-in-progress photographed straight-on in natural, diffused light (a bright window works great). Avoid angles or indoor yellow lighting.
-
Your original reference photo (not a photo of a print or screen—send the actual digital file).
-
Your question — Be specific! Let me know what area you’re working on and where you’re feeling stuck.
With this info, I’ll create a custom 10-step plan tailored to your artwork.
-
Each photo shows a visual simulation of what your art could look like after a step is applied.
Each step will focus on adding 1–3 colors or techniques to build your artwork gradually and intentionally.
This isn’t just a “what to fix”—it’s a clear, do-this-next roadmap.-
Use natural, indirect daylight near a window or take the photo outdoors in the shade.
-
Make sure the image is straight-on and not at an angle.
-
Do not compress the image—send the highest resolution possible.
-
If scanning, ensure the scan bed is clean and your image is color-accurate before submitting.
The better your photo, the better my guidance can be!
-
I provide detailed step-by-step guidance for:
-
Colored pencils
-
Prismacolor—color-specific guidance included.

The Color Alchemy Chart is a visual map of all 150 Prismacolor pencils, organized by value, hue, and whether the color is bright or muted.
It’s your go-to tool for:-
Choosing the right colors for your project
-
Practicing seamless transitions
-
Planning gradient backgrounds with confidence
Basically, it’s like having a personal color whisperer on your desk.
-
Yes—this chart was lovingly crafted specifically for Prismacolor. While some colors might look similar across brands, other pencil sets won’t be an exact match.
Absolutely! I highly recommend it for all levels.
Beginners will find it a super helpful guide for getting to know your pencils and learning how different colors interact. Think of it as your visual training wheels—but way more fun and magical. Here are just a few ideas to get you going:
🎨 Color Matching: Use the chart to match reference photo areas with Prismacolor pencils.
🎨 Hue/Value Shifts: Shift a color's hue without changing its value—great for shadows or subtle changes.
🎨 Color Transitions: Find neighboring hues that blend beautifully for a silky-smooth gradient.A quick, clear walkthrough of how to use the chart like a pro. I’ll show you how to read it, use it with your references, and avoid common blending hiccups.
Yes to both!
🖨️ Printable Charts (Charts 1–4): Great for your studio wall or sketchbook.
💻 Master Chart (Chart 5): Best for digital use on your computer or tablet—zoom, highlight, explore! The chart gives you clarity, structure, and helps make your process smoother. But coaching? That’s where we dive into your unique style, creative voice, and technique refinement. The chart is the compass—coaching is the map.
Sorry, I don’t offer refunds on digital products.
But if you run into any issues with your download, the checkout process, or opening the files, please reach out—I’ll be happy to help troubleshoot and make it right!
Custom Art
I specialize in colored pencil portraits—pets, people, architecture, still life, landscapes, and meaningful moments—with a blend of soulful storytelling and technical precision. I also offer graphite pencil or black-and-white colored pencil options.
Curious about something beyond portraits? I’m open to digital art and commercial commissions as well. I’ve created artwork for board games, book covers, and oracle card decks—so if you have a project in mind, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Absolutely! Feel free to send it via the form or email, and I’ll let you know if it works—or if I need a better reference. I sometimes ask for extra images to get a better sense of eye color, hair texture, or facial features. A clear, high-resolution image always leads to the best result.
Tip: If your favorite photo is a bit blurry, send it along with a clearer photo taken around the same time.
A simple portrait takes a minimum of 2–3 weeks, depending on my current waitlist. Colored pencil work is time-intensive, so I do not accept rush orders.
Planning ahead is key—especially for birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays.
🎄 If you want your artwork completed before Christmas, please place your order by the end of September.Yes—I understand that art is an investment. Let me know your budget, and I’ll do my best to create something meaningful that fits your range. I’ll be transparent if your budget won’t align with your vision, and we can explore options together.
That’s totally doable! Just include this in your form. Additional subjects require more time and detail, so the price and size will increase accordingly. I’ll guide you to the best size to ensure everyone shines.
No worries! Just tell me a little about the space where you plan to hang your piece and what kind of impact you’d like it to have. I can guide you toward the right size based on your space and your budget.
When I create custom art, I give 100%—my skill, passion, and presence. Offering discounts means I’d have to compromise on quality or time, and that’s not something I do.
If you’re looking for something more affordable, I recommend browsing my prints and reproductions of past work, or consider commissioning a smaller piece.
Yes! I offer custom matting and framing for an additional cost. If you prefer to frame the artwork yourself, you can purchase just the mat from me, or handle it fully on your own.
Whichever route you choose, I strongly recommend using acid-free matting and backing to protect your artwork for years to come.
Yes, I can ship anywhere in the U.S., and possibly internationally (just ask first!). If you’re ordering internationally, you're responsible for any customs fees.
Note: I don’t recommend shipping framed artwork due to its weight, fragility, and high shipping costs. Unframed pieces ship much more safely and affordably.
Custom art is deeply personal, and I pour time and care into every piece. Because of the nature of commissioned work, all sales are final and non-refundable once the project has started.
You’ll have a chance to review the piece before I apply the final UV-protective coating. Up to two small adjustments are included in the price. Please make sure you love my art style and have a clear vision before we begin.
Once the drawing process begins, major changes are difficult (and may require starting over). That’s why we confirm all details up front. If you need a big change after I’ve started, it may be treated as a new project.
If you’d like a digital artwork, I can create one for you!
If you commission a traditional piece (colored pencil or graphite), I can also offer high-quality reproductions (like posters, canvas prints, or greeting cards).
Nore: The digital version of a commissioned traditional piece is copyrighted to me, and is provided for personal use only. Please don’t reproduce, sell, or distribute it without my written permission. Commercial licensing is available if needed.
