Hello Everyone! Are you ready for another week of self-discovery?
A few days ago, I recorded a new guided meditation, "Why am I here?" and to elaborate on this topic I just recorded another episode of the Dive Deeper Podcast on the same topic yesterday. (I'm planning to release this sometime next week so stay tuned!) Now that I've been thinking about this topic for a while, I am coming to this conclusion: to know why we are here, and to understand our missions in life, we must be unapologetically authentic to ourselves. Why? That's because knowing who we are leads to unlocking our own unique path. You see, each one of us is uniquely different, and so is our purpose and mission in life. Only you get to know what they are, no one else. Once we start expressing ourselves as our authentic selves, then our path will unfold.
This week, let's look at ourselves, get to know ourselves more intimately, and see if we know what it means to be authentically us. Now that we have come a long way in defining our dreams and addressing our restrictions and resistance, it's time to finetune how we express ourselves.
So, here is this week's journal topic:
What does it mean to be authentically you? What defines you being uniquely you? What drives you? What is your passion? What interests you?
When you answer these questions, don't define yourself as what you do for a job, or which role you fulfill in society. For example, I would not define myself as a mom or a business owner. I might say I am an artist because this is also my passion, and being creative is my nature. If you think of yourself outside the framework of how society sees you, you can define yourself from outside the box.
Remember, there are no right or wrong answers, and no one will read this but you. So, feel free to list what speaks to you that resonates with your heart. You might be a singer but others may not see you that way. That's totally ok! You might want to become an author though you haven't written much. That's ok too! Just think of it this way - if you get to write the story of your life, who would you be?
We are often too busy with our work and other obligations in life to know who we really are and what we want. If you are drawing blank, that is totally fine too! I've been there. So if that is your case, start thinking about ways you can invite something new into your life. How would you be receptive to something totally, and completely new to enter into your life? Remember, not knowing is a very powerful place to be. In this state of total darkness, you will receive something outside of your scope of awareness and understanding.
Use this as an opportunity to celebrate you being you! Get to know yourself at a whole new level and cultivate this intimate relationship with yourself. <3
Happy journaling,
Noriko
